Getting Ready For Easter
I love the thought of spring arriving, the colours of the blossom on the tree, and new flowers poking through the soil.
I also love filling my home with cheap bunches of daffodils in jugs.
The lovely yellow colour brightens the house.
I actually think I might love Easter more than Christmas. Don't get me wrong I am not a hum bug... but Christmas brings pressure to buy everyone gifts and did I remember everyone.
Cooking food for what seems like the 5000 trying to make sure its perfect... well nothing is perfect and just having family and friends together is lovely....but you know what I mean.
So mothers day is over, which I love. My children always make it so special for me and treat it like a birthday...so many hugs and kisses, handmade cards and beautiful gifts. I'm so very fortunate to have such a lovely big family.
Anyway Easter decorating commenced yesterday I cleared my huge dresser in the hallway and filled it with pretty pastels.
This huge dresser was a bargain in my local second hand shop for just £50 it was Annie Sloaned and now looks lovely against the Cath Kidston paper.
My newest purchase is this pretty ric rac jug... also from Cath Kidston. This is just calling out for me to fill it with daffodils (I love this print so much I also have the dress)
Each year I collect more and more Easter bits, usually after Easter as they go ridiculously cheap and then I pop them in my Easter box (yep I have an Easter decoration box, and a valentine one, and a Halloween box and of course the normal Christmas box too)
This Easter tree was from Hobby craft this is the small one at £20 the large is £30. But this tree can be used for so many occasions, and great to hang my jewellery off to take photos for my shop
There are a small eggs which were recently brought from Paperchase, others have been collected over a few years. Great places to look are supermarkets and also pound shops.
The yellow jug in the back was a local find at a vintage fair.
These are my latest favourites...and I don't think I'll want to put them away after Easter. These lovely rabbit jars were from Home Bargains.. at just £1.49 each. I'm waiting to fill them with little mini eggs and creme eggs..but not yet as they will get eaten by the little ones ( and not so little ones)!!!
Even my bedding has been Easter'd this one is lovely and very reasonably priced from Asda.
Over the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing some lovely Easter treats and ideas with you. So that you don't miss anything please subscribe ....just pop your email address in to the subscribe box near the top right of the page....
Happy Easter
